Yes for money....but probably 3 weeks to late

I got some lovely mail yesterday

My W2

WooHoo!

My job loves to mail these out at the last possible day

Drives me nuts!

Especially when we are asked everyday to watch our spending

Hello, you could have handed me my W2

But I guess

Any mail helps out the Post Office these days

I hit the door

Barely took of my coat 

Went right to work doing my taxes

 I am that type of person

Might be because I know 

I get money back

And don't need to pay

So in between

Basketball practice with the Kid

Dinner

And some hunting for a form I needed

My 2012 taxes are

DONE!

Kinda wish I had that refund now
The Kid came home all happy
Waiving a flyer at me
She wants to join Lacrosse

Sign ups are on Sunday
Along with $125 sign up/insurance fee
And equipment needed
It is times like this
I wish fairy god mother's existed
This single mom
Does not have that cash laying around
and in 2 days ..well that is gonna be a bit rough to scrape together

Why do schools hand out things at the last minute?

Looking forward

It was a busy week

Doctors appointments for the Kid

And on top of that all it has been 

FRIGID

I mean freeze your boogers kind of cold

(tmi?)

I did get to come home 

To a little surprise in the mail

Back before Christmas 

I won a giveaway

I being busy and not paying attention

To my emails

Failed to notice

I had won

A lovely pink poncho
That my Kid loves
So I would like to say
Thank you to

On Monday
The Kid participated in a chess Tournament
This year she actually was actually part of  a team
I think this made the day better for her
She didn't do as well as she wanted
But she had fun

At at the end of the day
(all 7 1/2 hrs of it)
Her school team came in 4th place
Very Proud

 I also attempted

This time I made Chicken, rotella, black beans and corn.

So I guess I did this right
It was really easy
Just a dump crock-pot recipe
That I definitely will be doing again
Doesn't this look yummy

even happy with how my food shot came out

The Stuff Taking Over My Stuff

Ugh

That is the noise that escapes my mouth

When I know 

That the chaos around me

Need to be 

TACKLED

I always have good

intentions

Never do they ever seem to come together

What is my problem

Sadly

Me

I am way to lazy 

I get home 

And veg in on the couch

I know for a fact 

If  I spent  just an hour 

each day cleaning

I could still be lazy

Just with less stuff

In my way

It must be done

My stuff is literally taking over my stuff

It is a tragic mess

I feel like I could be becoming and Episode of

Hoarders

(ok not that bad but feels that way)

So where do I start

And how do I keep on track 

I need to reevaluate 

The Stuff

Question myself

Is this book that important

Do I really need another frame

That cute little bottle that I might put a flower in 

Are any of these needed

Or will I ever use them

I will get there one day

(before the camera crew arrives)

The simplicity of it all 

Will amaze me 

And all those I force to see

It is just a matter

Of taking that first step

so funny.

Just started watching season 1

On Friday
 Made up for the week at work

After some errands

And a couple of coffee dates

With friends
Movie catch up
Was what I did
Instead of the housework
Some was done
Not nearly enough

I watched
ARGO


Loved it
I am not a huge fan
Of Ben Affleck's acting
But as a director
I can not complain
I have enjoyed all of his movies
So far

 Besides Argo
I continued my movie watching
With another true story
 
COMPLIANCE
 Let me just tell you
This movie disturbed me
It left me literally nauseous
Made me want to never
Let my child work in fast food
I was literally telling the characters in the movie
"what are you thinking"
"pick up the phone"
 This movie
Messed with me
I think the part that made it most disturbing
is that it
REALLY HAPPENED
Wrap your brain around that

 I am a sucker
When it comes to a good
TRUE story
Any that you would recommend?

Snowflakes

Woke up this morning 

To snow covering everything

While yes it looks pretty

It is a pain in the ass

When you need to be at work 

At 7am

The Kid 

Got a snow day 

Oh how I miss those

I would be happy with a delay

It was nice

Being able to say 

"No,don't get up.You get to stay home"

And seeing a groggy smile

"A snow miracle"

Was her reply

I love her

I pinned it
And actually made it
Spinach Lasagna Roll Ups
Was happy with the results
Definitely something I will make again

I've decided
 To make Sundays
My Pin  It and attempt it day
Figuring
If I can waste hours of time Pinning away
I can spend a few hours
Actually trying them out.
Stay tuned for those results

Almost done
Reading a book
I got as a Christmas present
It is a True Crime book called

It amazes me that this is a true story
One I have not heard of before
My downfall with it
(it is a really lame one)
No pictures

It is one thing when reading fiction
To imagine
What the characters look like
This is a TRUE story
And I want to see the real people
In the end
I Googled
And got a peek

Smiles

I have had some heavy heart moments as of late.

This post is not about that though.

While sharing might help

I am not ready

I want to make sure I put it down in a way that makes sense

Even if the issue itself does not

So why the title "Smiles"

I think the few things that follow will make it all make sense.

And it all begins again

 I hope everyone had a wonderful send off for 2012

and 

enjoyed the first day of 2013!

I spent a lovely evening with some friends on New Year's Eve

It was a small gathering.

We all enjoyed some yummy food,lots of laughs 

and maybe few too many drink.

All of us crashed at the host's home.
Was like a big old adult sleep over.
Woke up to the smell of a delicious breakfast being made.
Talked about how different our lives would be
if we didn't live for the dollar and instead
lived to live.
It was a great way to start off the New Year .
Even if a few of us (mainly me) was wishing I didn't send off 2012
with so many glasses of wine.
Thank you Jess & Adam for hosting a wonderful get together.

I would like to say I spent New Year's day doing wonderful things.
Like making memories with the Kid
however I did not.
The kid made plan with her Noka
So that left me on my own.
So I did what my body needed
SLEEP.

Woke up in time to welcome the Kid home.
Zoned out in front of the t.v
Watched way too much of some show that is about becoming a
Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.
Many brain cells wasted
A complete waste of a day
but  I needed it.
I have 364 more days this year to get things done.

Look out 2013
I do have plans ,goals
and some dreams as well.
