Christmas Wrap up

We survived Christmas!
Nothing happened.
That is a good thing.
Somewhat quiet,but spent with family.
Money was tight.
So no insane to remember presents for all.
Careful buying
It was either on sale or purchased with a coupon
Or both
Those two things allowed for a bit more under the tree
Finally decorated and ready for presents
We spend Christmas Eve at Grandmas
Where we eat tons of junk
Open some presents
Laugh till our sides hurt
Then eat some more junk
Always good times
A few presents opened and some funny faces too

After a fun filled Christmas Eve it was off to our home
Kid tucked away into bed
While I spent a few hours wrapping gifts
One of my favorite things to do
Honestly!

Our tree on Christmas Eve

 Christmas morning was calm
Woke up made my coffee and put in the cinnabuns
Soaked up the silence of the early morning
Had the Kid call her Noka (what she has called my mom since she could talk)
Waited for her arrival
Placed her gifts under the tree
Then our fun began
Some of my favorite moments of our morning

It was a great day.
No running around.
A lot of lounging around in our PJs
We ended the day with a simple Christmas Dinner.
Cornish hens as requested by the kid.

Just a wonderful day.
Making memories.

Hope your holidays were just a great!

Day 12

Day 12

Ho, ho, but no matter. Christmas was on its way. Lovely, glorious, beautiful Christmas, upon which the entire kid year revolved.

Day 11

Day 11

Oh, Christmas isn't just a day, it's a frame of mind... and that's what's been changing. That's why I'm glad I'm here, maybe I can do something about it.

Christmas is not "clothing optional" this year - we have a guest.

Day 9

Day 9

All right, listen up guys. 'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except... the four assholes coming in the rear in standard two-by-two cover formation.

Day 8

Day 8

It's Christmas Eve. Good deeds count extra tonight. Think of an important thing you can do for others, and go do it. Just follow the star in your heart.

Day 7

Day 7

You know what I'm going to get you next Christmas, Mom? A big wooden cross, so that every time you feel unappreciated for your sacrifices, you can climb on up and nail yourself to it.

DAY 5

Day 5

Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion... love actually is all around.

                                                                                                  ~ Love Actual

I know many Bloggers are doing a day of  "silence",however I am going to do my planned post but with a quote I was planning on ending this 12 days with . I think today is very fitting for it.
Once again my heart aches for you Newton.
I hope that your hearts heal quickly .
Love Actually  is all around every single one of you right now.
Hope your able to feel it.

Day 4

DAY 4

But for now, let me say - Without hope or agenda - Just because it's Christmas - And at Christmas you tell the truth - To me, you are perfect - And my wasted heart will love you

DAY 3

Day 3

It's Christmas Eve! It's... it's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we... we... we smile a little easier, we... w-w-we... we... we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be!

Day 2

Day 2

He puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. Maybe Christmas, he thought... doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps... means a little bit more!

~ How The Grinch Stole Christmas

This quote means a bit more to me today than ever. Hold the ones you love a bit closer and always remember to say you love them. Life is precious and you never know what could happen.

Much love to all those in Sandy Hook.

I am slowly finding some Christmas Spirit. The tree is almost complete and other then a few light issues, I am happy with what it is becoming. I can't wait to share some pictures of it but I want you to see it complete.

Christmas always seems to be the time of year when money is tight.Even with a Christmas Club something always seems to come up and that money is redirected to that and not towards the gifts intended. I will say that it helps that I have a Kid who has never been one to be like I WANT I WANT . She has always been pretty laid back when it comes to Holidays. This can be good and bad though.Trying to get gift ideas has always been a challenge and I literally start telling her to write her Christmas list down in September that way I can get a list longer than three things.

My new challenge to deal with is she is getting older and the list ideas are getting pricey. It is not that she is asking for just things that cost more but toys just are overall cheaper. So with money being tight and not wanting her to open just one gift on Christmas morning I have opted not to do a "BIG" gift this year. I hope she will not be disappointed. I did my best to get things I know she wanted or know that she loves.I even threw in a few things she needed that stilled filled that love category.

I know that Christmas is not about what you get, but really who are we kidding? When you wake up in the Christmas and walk to your tree sparkling in all its' glory you would be sad to see nothing under it.

I have plans to make this a special morning regardless of the loot that is had or not had.

It is almost the finally countdown .Those "12" days that I have my own way special way of counting down each year.I look forward to sharing with those of you who might stop by a take a look.

How do you handle a Christmas season on a tight budget ?

The 12 Days of Christmas

The 12 Days of Christmas…Don’t worry I will not break into song via a Vlog. I do not even plan on typing out the lyrics to explain the origin of the song. Honestly, I think it is one of those Christmas time songs I am happy to skip.

However, I do not want to let these next 12 days past without some type of mention. So I am going to do something I have tried to do yearly since the days of MySpace. (My pre Facebook and blogging hang out spot. I actually miss some aspects of MySpace, and hope I am not the only one out there)

So to mark these next 12 Days I bring you ….

The 12 days of Christmas movie quotes

These quotes are just some of my favorite “holiday” time movies. No particular order, just lines that crack me up and probably some that are inappropriate. Enjoy !

And please share your favorites with me.

Day 1

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” ~ Elf

I don't know anyone who can watch this movie and not crack a smile.
I think you would have to be a Scrooge if you did not.

Now Serving Pity Party For One

I've been lost.
Mentally,physically,emotionally as of late.
I  can not pin point exactly what started this

I have had some health issues
A nasty lung infection
That has overstayed its welcome by over a month
It has been draining
8:08 am and I am all ready exhausted.

Money
Just the word causes me stress
Just does not seem to be enough of it ever.
Amazing how one event can drain your bank account
Then take months for to find yourself out of that hole

Middle school
Ohh how I do not like those Middle school girls.
I think my child has handled it better then me
Girls just enjoy being the age you are now
Have fun
Meet new friends
Be nice
You have your entire lives to be B@t*e!

I need the Christmas spirit to show up
It will not be grand this year.
However it will be spent with people I love
Hopefully that love will have me found.
